On a beautiful Saturday, Fellowship of Awesome lost to the Young Guns in the closest finals in MZU history. YG started off fast, up 4-0 in the first 10 minutes. Foa, with Greer out for the first 3 points, mounted their comeback with 3 straight points to cut the deficit to 4-3. Teams went back and forth, with Foa taking the lead into half 8-7. Tracey Dyer had arguably the greatest individual game of the decade, with 7 total points scored. A close game with efficient handling, diving catches, and lay out defensive stops. Tied at 10-10, YG scored with 2 minutes left to take the lead. Foa failed to score on it's last posession. MVP, Greer and Tracey. Spirit player was Peter Thompson.

-- Fellowship of Awesome going for it's 10th straight MZU summer league title & 11 in total. Additions in 2017; Devonne Ryan, Kevin Schmidt, Carla Chaytor & Stephen Snow joins the team. Schmidt will be leaving in August. They are incredibly talented athletes, but even better people!

-- Fellowship of Awesome defeated Blackhorse, W 15-10 to capture their 10th straight (11 overall) MZU Summer league trophy at Feildian grounds Saturday, August 26, 2017. In the upset of the day, Blackhorse defeated Young Guns 15-10 in the semi's; stopping the Young Guns 6th straight finals appearance. An overcast, cloudy day - FOA overcame multiple injuries to win their 11th overall title.
-- FOA started off strong by beating Blackhorse's zone. Quick points by Paolo Mascarin and Stephen Snow quickly pushed the lead to 4-1. FOA, playing with only 4 girls all day (Carla, Jess, Devonne, and Bec), also implemented zone on a windy day. Both team traded points, with FOA extending it's lead to 7-4. Peter Thompson scored 2 points in the 1st half. The Snow brothers worked the zone efficiently, and brought the lead to 8-5 at half. - Foa scored the 1st point on the 2nd half, pushing the lead to 9-5. Blackhorse capitalized on a few drops, cutting the lead to 10-8. Greer Hunt & Paolo Mascarin really pushed Blackhorse's zone, and finished the game on a 5-2 run. Foa were dealing with 7 injuries this year, however three of our Rookies played exceptional on playoff day. A huge shout out to Carla Chaytor, and co-rookies of the year - Stephen Snow and Devonne Ryan. That's 11 Championships in 12 years.

- FoA faced Young Guns for the 5th straight year in the MZU finals. A day that started with rain and wind, but became sunny for the finals. FOA started strong from the First Huck. Greer Hunt threw a 55 yard bomb to Paolo Mascarin for the 1st point. FOA continued to push the lead to 4-1 with 2 points from rookie Tracey Dyer. Young Guns never truly got into any rhythm & the wind caused havoc all day. FoA took an 8-2 lead into halftime.
- 2nd half, Fellowship played zone and Young Guns couldn't adapt. Foa's lead grew to 11-3, and had both the momentum and intensity. Tracey Dyer made some incredible end zone catches, finishing with 5 points. Ryan Davis scored 3 of the last 4 foa points. Greer Hunt & Paolo both lead the team in assists with 4. Final score 15 - 5. An intense game, with amazing plays & exceptional defense, FOA defeat Young Guns 13-8. The game started with Young Guns scoring first, and taking a 2-1 lead. FOA took the lead 4-2, but the Young Guns came back to tie it at Four. Rebecca Coffey, Ryan Davis & Andrew Tobin combined to score 4 straights points to put FOA ahead 8-4 at half time.
- FOA didn't slow down after half time, and scored the next 3. Up 11-4, strong defensive play by the FOA women, really shut down Young Guns. Peter Thompson, struggling with Food Poisoning, threw a hammer to Rebecca Coffey. Up 13-6 with 10 minutes left; Young guns scored the last 2 points. Final score 13-8. Coffey scored 4 points, Andrew Tobin & S.Davis each scored 3 to lead the offense. MVP of the game was Ryan Davis who had 1 point & assist. Spirit of the game player was Peter Thompson with 1 assist.

FOA recruited Hillary Hutton, Ryan Quinlan, and Karen Bussy. Monster was created out of $1 Bob/HHB/Power Discharge - to challenge for the title in 2010. However, FOA in probably the greatest free agent signings in the history of all time - signed one of the league's defensive specialists.

FOA defeated "Monster" in a windy battle at Wishingwell field. The flow of the game went back and forth, a lot of contested calls combined with a lot of arguing. The only time a MZU finals has been played there. Winning their 3rd straight title vs Monster 11-8. Their 4th championship in 5 years.

2009 - Fellowship of Awesome (MZU Summer League Champions, W 15-2 vs $1 Bob)

-- Andrew Tobin, Jeff Pardy and Gina Reid was added to the roster. John Snow played in the finals to replace his older brother. FOA went 8-3-1 in the season & struggled with consistent play. Playoff day - FOA continued to dominate. In one of the most lop - sided finals in MZU history to date; FOA defeated $1 Bob 15 -2; winning their 3rd championship! The game will be remembered for Peter Thompson's "No Look" pass to Jeff Party during the final minutes of the game.
2008 - Fellowship of Awesome (MZU Summer League Champions, W 11-6 vs $1 Bob)

-- HHB lost Brent Smith and their team fell out of contention. FOA made a few additions to the team - Christopher Fox, Catherine Snow, Loraine Pelley, & Roger Crowley. FOA finished the regular season with a 10-1-1 record. FOA had to face a new team called $1 Bob (aka Monster). In a very windy game at Southlands in Mount Pearl, FOA returned to championship form with 2 points against the wind and defeated $1 Bob 11-6 in the finals, taking home their 2nd Summer league title.
2007 - A-Team (2nd place Tier 1, MZU Summer League Finalist, L 14 - 8 vs Holy Huck Batman)

-- Fellowship of Awesome was born. Mr. Mascarin and Kent Maynard decided to break away from Brent Smith and create the foundation for their new team. With new comers Patrick Joseph Snow and Ryan Micheal Davis - the team was built on a simple formula - out run the other team.
-- Their athleticism and defense were too much for the veteran team of Holy Huck Batman. They beat the favored Holy Huck Batman in the finals at Fieldians Grounds 12-9, & captured their 1st MZU summer league title.

2005 - Huck Norris - 1st year inception - 3rd place (Joanie Loves Chachi 1st place Champions)
-- Paolo Mascarin, Kent Maynard, and Ms. Rebecca Coffey were the core of the team that decided that it was time to part ways after the summer of 2005. They lost to the eventual champions (Joanie Loves Chachi) in the Semi Final Game. Little did the rest of the league know that a new team was being created - Fellowship of Awesome.
