Year comes to an End!!! Until 2012.....
Well - It's that time again where the FOA go into Hibernation until Mid - May. It's been a great year with loads of memories.
It was literally a "team" effort this year. From our 4 Rookies stepping up to play almost every game (wow), to our Captain of the year providing the right kind of leadership, to our on field presence/leadership by our 2011 MVP Patrick Snow - everyone bought into the concept of our team philosophy.
Not sure what will top this year's Final party!! From East Side Mario's, to Anna misplacing her jersey, to the Incredible Boat Tour, to Roger and Tobin recreating the Titanic Scene, to fishing with Greer Hunt Sr., to the Annual FOA 2011 Awards, to Nat and R.Davis playing piano and Singing!!, to Rog and S.Davis playing Guitar, to R.Davis hiding in the tree, to Greer Hunt Sr. BBQ'ing for us, to the ride to Newhook street to serenade our new 2011 MVP, to the cops being called to Paolo's house, to the tree climbing, to the Reece Piece competition, to Bec and Nat getting super loaded!!, to the Drinking Games, to Greer losing his wallet at Mcdonalds/Airport and needing $$ to get out of the Airport, to all of the great music, Paolo getting Greer Iced!!! The Brass of FOA will continue to bring the team - more entertainment & Fun for years to come!!

FOA Summer League Champions 2011. Fellowship of Awesome defeat Torque W 15 - 4.!!
FOA played Torque today in the Summer league final at Fieldian Grounds today at 1pm. FOA defeated Torque W 15 -4 winning their 4th championship in a row. and 5th in the last 6 years. A hot and average windy day caused for an interesting game.
FOA started strong and jumped out to an early 4 - 0 lead. Torque actually scored 2 straight points and had good flow. Fellowship of awesome decided that 2 points was enough, and scored the final 4 points of the half - leading 8-2.
The Second half started like the first ended. FOA scored 2 straight points, but Torque responded with 2 of their own. 10-4. Fellowship continued their strong play with aggressive defense and scored the final 5 points. Aimee Sheppard was a huge Defensive threat in the 2nd half. 2 times in 1 point - she stopped Cat Flemming from scoring and getting the disc. She was also given the player of the game.
Overall, Fellowship of Awesome only surrendered 5 points in 3 games during the playoffs. Never giving up more than 5 points/game all year. Playing with Injuries and a short roster, FOA were 15 - 0 this season.
Paolo Mascarin was given the Captain of the Year award by the league Saturday night. Over coming injuries and limited playing time - he lead his team to a 5th title in 6 years. FOA's 2010 MVP, Ms. Rebecca Coffey was out of the country on work, and Jessica Wade was out of the province.
The team pulled through - and had another undefeated season. All the best to the league and every team. Until next year!

Aug 24 vs Torque W 15 - 1
FOA faced Torque in the final regular season game at MQP Wednesday night. In Windy conditions, FOA were up 3-1 and suddenly the Hunt Family & Hans and Frans showed up!!! Then S.Davis told Tobin that there was beer at the game - but he couldn't drink it until the end of the game. Cue the Austrian connection...
With that Tobin and R.Davis had to release the German duo. Aimee Sheppard said she hadn't seen a show like that since the Bus home from the Wedding in Italy. Tobin, who was also won the spirit award - went out after half - D'd up the first pass; then bolted for the endzone - jumped about 3 feet in the air and caught a pass for a point!! R. Davis also had 5 points in the game!
Everyone on FOA was buzzing after the game. It seemed as if S.davis's mention of beer (given to him by the other team) - gave Tobin and R.Davis "extra motivation". Playoffs Start Saturday!!!
August 22 vs Monster W 15 - 5
In Windy Conditions, Fellowship of Awesome defeated Monster 15 - 5 in Summer League play Monday night at MQP. It was a close game at 4-3, but then FOA pulled away and lead 8-4 at half. The games between Monster and FOA are always interesting. This one was pretty calm - expect for a rare foot block call or foul call; the game was very spirited.
FOA were only missing 2 players today; Sleepy Coffey and Tobin. Everyone played well. No real star performance by anyone. Natalie O'Donnell did win her 2nd spirit award. Fellowship are preparing for one more game against Torque.

August 8 vs Bohemian Fantasy W 15 -4
FOA won their 10th game in a row by defeating Mr. Brent Smith and his stellar team Monday afternoon at MQP field. Game was actually pretty close in the beginning. Bohemian's Zone caused trouble for FOA; and a # of turnovers were created. FOA took an 8-2 lead to half, and played more consistently in the 2nd half.
It was Paddy Snow's turn to miss a game. However, Mr. Ryan Davis takes home his First Spirit award of the game!! 1-68. Finally, another record broken. Nat O'Donnell, Gina Reid, and Peter Thompson all played well. Defense stepped up in the 2nd half. UP next - Torque!
July 28 vs Monster W 13 - 5
Another match for the ages. FOA vs Monster...... again. Monster with only 5 guys jumped out to a 2-1 lead. It was tied 3-3 when FOA pulled away, but not without a 20 minute final point before half. FOA lead 8-4 at half.
Strong defense by Aimee Sheppard, Roger Crowley, Ryan Davis and Nat O'Donnell kept Monster at bay in the 2nd half. Only registered one point in the 2nd quarter. A rainy, drizzle, and foggy day caused little trouble for both teams. Overall, the score was not indicative of the intensity from both teams.
Monster had a number of chances to score close to the goal line - but were unable to capitalize. Catherine Snow was won the Spirit Award. Round 3 is officially over for both teams. The 4th round should start next week!!
July 21 vs Donkey W 15- 1
Hard Fought game as usual with the Donkey.
Never a dull moment with the Fellowship!! Paddy Snow and Aimee Sheppard's turn to miss a game, but the injuries are slowly going away. Roger Crowley playing at 78% scored 2 points, Anna Snow scored 3 points, and Ms. Natalie O'Donnell came back with some stellar Defense and her new Tan!
Everyone played well tonight. Solid Cutting and catching the disc. Even at a roster that is working with limited numbers - the job is still getting done. Mr. Mascarin has played sparingly to keep himself from losing his mind. Back to back Spirit awards. Up next Monster 7pm - next Thursday!
July 13th vs Torque W 13 - 5
For a team that is undefeated, and has never given up more than 5 points this year - there is still much work to do.
FOA built up an 8 -0 lead on Torque at half - and then decided to just lay off the gas for about 25 minutes. Sloppy defense and just a relaxed atmosphere let Torque score 5 points in the half - before FOA scored the final 2 points of the game. Paolo Mascarin was given the spirit of the game award.
Peter Thompson and Roger Crowley playing injured - were the players of the game for FOA. Again with only 5 guys and 4 girls, FOA's limited line up is hanging in there. However - always room to improve. 9 days until the Semi Final 2010 rematch vs Donkey!!
July 12th vs Monster; W 12 - 5.
With Porcelain Pete out with a broken nose, Nat O in the prairie land, Sleepy Coffey back to the Oil, Roger still at only 80%, and Paolo still trying to get on for "one point" - FOA win a hard fought game against Monster 12 - 5.
Ms. Aimee Sheppard - picking up the slack for her "broken" husband; played incredible defense and set the tone on defense for the whole team. Wind caused havoc with the disc the whole game - but a quick 8-3 lead at half gave FOA some breathing room.
Patrick Snow, Gina Reid, and Jessica Wade all played solid defense - and kept Monster from even thinking about making a comeback! No time for Rest... Torque is up next tomorrow!!!!! Greer won spirit of the game award.
July 4 vs Torque; W 15 -5
With almost a Full "roster", Fellowship of Awesome won their 5th game in a row in the 2011 Season. With a diverse array of balance scoring from everyone, Awesome started strong with an 8-2 lead at half.
Starting the 2nd half a little slow - FOA were still up 10-5, and then put the pedal down with 5 straight points. Using Zone for the first time in a long time, FOA caused a number of Turnovers. Greer Hunt has a "little" difficulty keeping his Hucks in bounds - but the Rookie made up for it with almost "his first callahan".
Strong defense by Peter Thompson, Jessica Wade, Sleepy Coffey and Roger Crowley (spirit player - surprise, surprise) made it almost impossible for Torque to build up any momentum. Up Next - Monster...
June 27 vs Bohemian Fantasy W 15 -4
With our 2010 MVP back, and Roger C just coming off Injured Reserve, Fellowship of Awesome defeated Bohemian Fantasy at Kitty Gaul today.
Natalie O'Donnell had a big game with 6 points. Ryan Davis played well against his old adversary Mr. Brent "Chocolate" Smith. Rebecca "Sleepy" Coffey and Gina Reid handled well. At one point Mr. Coach Paolo Mascarin played 5 girls!!!! for 2 points in a row.
Mr. Ryan Davis had the catch of the game, however Derrick Davis won his 2nd Spirit Award!! In the famous words of our poet Ms. Aimee Sheppard -- Davis its your year! Just the way the world is right now!
Great game overall - hard work and defense wins games.
June 13 -- FOA beat Torque 15-4
Never a dull moment with the Fellowship! Injuries continue to rise with FOA. With Paolo and Roger on the DL, Gina Reid goes down with a neck injury. Then Andrew Tobin goes down in the 1st half with a hamstring injury. With Bec still in the US, and Jessie out of town; the FOA continues to roll.
Greer Hunt, Anna Snow, Aimee Sheppard, Ryan Davis stepped up. With Peter Thompson playing exceptional Defense - the train is still on time. Anna Snow had 6 points! Natalie O'Donnell had a huge defensive and offensive diving Catch!!
Not much else to say! FOA finish atop the Tier 1 ladder - and await the schedule. Ms. Bec Coffey is scheduled to return in 2 weeks!! Peter Thompson gets the spirit award.

June 9 -- FOA vs Snatch FU....The Return of Tash!!! FOA win 15-1.
There's always something with FOA - that creates those magical moments.
With only 8 Dressed players for Thursday, the Fellowship called out to Mrs. Tash Pardy-Mascarin to fill the void. Not only did she fill the void - but scored an important point - and was voted the FOA player of the game!!
Filling in for our Missing Captain - Roger Crowley had the ship failing smoothly. Against the zone or against man - Fellowship could not be stopped. All 4 ladies played perfect defense - and Only Mr. Ryan Davis and Ms. Pardy were a perfect Plus 15 - in the plus/minus category.
In another bet - between Crowley and Derrick ... Roger comes out on top when Snatch FU gave Derrick the Spirit of the game award!! Stunned is an understatement. Now the stakes must be raised again. (Seems to be a lot of gambling with this crowd!!)
P.Snow again called a great game - and not a single travel call came from the veteran's mouth. Peter Thompson and Greer Hunt played exceptional - and with little rest.

June 6 - FOA win 1st game 14-4 over Monster
In the first game of the game of the season - FOA defeated Monster 14-4.
An intense game with average wind, fog and a little drizzle. From the beginning, FOA started fast and went up 8-2 at half time.
New comers Anna Snow, Greer Hunt, Natalie O'Donnell, and Gina Reid played at an incredible level combining Consistency and Calmness. Having to play with 4 girls for 1/3 of the game, FOA played aggressive and intense.
There was no letting up - as Coach Mascarin kept the lines straight with only 5 guys.
Natalie O'Donnell was presented with the Spirit Award.
Up next is Snatch FU, on Thursday. 7pm Brother Egan.
