Aug 24 -Finals vs Young Guns W 15 - 8
After 3 months, 14 games, 190 points, and a whole lot of work, FOA won it's 6th straight MZU title Saturday at Fieldian Grounds over Young Guns. An overcast day with average wind, created great intensity on the field. FOA started strong with points from Roger Crowley and Natalie O'donnell. Young Guns fought back to even the score at 5-5. FOA finished the half strong by scoring the next 3 points to take the lead at half.
Fellowship started strong out of the gates, with the Young Guns with only fielding 8 players - FOA scored the next 3 points by Ryan Davis, Aimee Sheppard & Greer Hunt. Aimee Sheppard make 2 huge defensive plays to turn the tide. Jess Wade and Rebecca Coffey also play key roles on Defense. Up 14-8 Greer Hunt threw a deep pass to Aimee Sheppard to finish the game. FOA takes the MZU title for a 7th time in 10 years. Paolo Mascarin was the spirit player of the game.

Aug 24 - Semi Finals vs Honey Badgers W 15 - 0
Semi Final game vs Honey Badgers played at Fieldian Grounds at 11:30pm, Saturday morning. Even though conditions were overcast and raining - FOA were focused and out for blood vs the 4th ranked team. FOA started with furious defense and never let their foot off the gas. Lay outs by Natalie O'Donnell and Greer Hunt inspired the team to not let up. FOA defeated Honey Badgers 15-0. Up next, the finals vs Young Guns. Spirit player of the game was Andrew Tobin.
Aug 20th vs Young Guns - W 6-0
Young Guns forfeit tonight's game vs FOA. Not enough bodies to field a team, plus
not enough time to reschedule the game. FOA wins 6-0. No spirit player of the game. FOA finish 11-0-1 in the regular season, and 1st place overall in the league. Playoffs start this Saturday. Semi Final game 11:30am at Feildian Grounds.

Aug 13th vs My Pet Donksters - W 15-0. 100th Career Victory
On a windy, but very quiet day - FOA defeated My Pet Donksters 15-0 at Bowering Park on a beautiful, but historic day. Aimee Sheppard started off the game with the 1st two points, and FOA never looked back. With a short handed roster, Fellowship stayed strong and took an 8-0 lead into half. With Nat O'Donnell back from an extended vacation, FOA played threw a stiff wind and finished off the game 15-0. After 8 years since Paolo started FOA, the team won their 100th career game tonight. Spirited player of the game- Aimee Sheppard. One more regular season game to go until playoff day.
Aug 6th vs Bohemian Fantasy - W 15 - 0
After one of the strongest tests from Young Guns, FOA started the 4th ladder standings with a new but old approach. Play as a team, and support one another. FOA, missing Nat O due to vacation, defeated the Bohfan 15-0 at Mary Queen of Peace field. 2 full lines working on Full emotion and chemistry - started fast and strong. Throwing zone, man, vertical, horizontal at the Red team. FOA used the wind to their advantage and put the pressure on the Fantasy team. Taking a 8-0 lead into half, then never letting off the gas. FOA finished the game 15-0. Catherine Snow lead FOA with 3 points. Ryan Davis called his 1st ever time out with FOA on the goal line upwind. Easy throw to Catherine Snow for her 2nd point of the game. Justin Warren gets the Spirit award.
July 30rd vs Young Guns T 9-9
On a day where Greer Hunt and Paolo return to play with FOA, Young Guns
brought their A game. FOA started strong going up 5-3, but Young guns
were focused and pushed FOA, and took the lead at 8-7 going into half with only 12 minutes left in the game. FOA reached down and tied the game 9-9 with just 1 minute left. Young Guns had a chance to win the game in the final possession - but with a pick called about 10 yards away from the goal line - threw the disc away. Spirit player of the game was Aimee Sheppard. In other action - Honey Badgers tied Bohemian Fantasy 9-9 as well. For the 1st time, the spirit score decided who will drop to tier2. Honey Badgers.

The Return of the King... or the captain of Fellowship of Awesome. Paolo Mascarin returns for the 1st time in 2013. FOA faced Honey Badgers at Brother Egan. FOA (as Psnow predicted) started off slow on Defense, and struggled to score. Score was actually 4-4, 15 minutes into the game. However, FOA found it's stride again with the only way they know how to play; team chemistry and believing in each other. FOA scored 4 straight points to take an 8-4 lead into half. The 2nd half started as the 1st ended. Strong play by Ryan Davis, Justin Warren, & defense again from Aimee Sheppard (who took one for the team). FOA surrendered 1 point in the final 45 minutes of the game. Final Score 14-5. Spirit player of the game for the 3rd straight game - Jessica Wade!
July 16th vs Bohemian Fantasy W 15-4
Calm, clear day at Kitty Gaul. Foa defeated Bofan 15-4 in the 3rd ladder standing of Tier 1.
Taking an 8-0 into the half, strong play by the foa girls finished off the game 15-4. The foa girls played 4 on a time - in the 2nd half. Rdavis, Peter T, & Justin Warren all out for the champs, but the team pulls together as usual. Spirit player of the game for the second straight game - Jessica Wade.

After FOA brought in Kevin Schmidt & Kent Maynard, Alumni week continued with

On a day where FOA were missing Psnow, Paolo, Greer & ATobin - FOA
brought the fellowship back in awesome. Being short handed, Kevin Schmitt

On a calm and sunny day at Brother Egan, FOA defeated the newlook Honey Badgers 15 -4. The FOA females came to play, scoring 10 of the 15 points. Great lay outs by Ryan Davis and Greer Hunt pushed the score to 6-1. Up 8-1 at half, Fellowship let off the gas a little, but finished up strong. Bec Coffey, Nat O'donnell & Anna Snow played great defense, and kept the speedy Badgers at bay. Greer Hunt wins the spirit award. Up next - the Young Guns..

Above windy conditions at Kitty Gaul field faced FOA, Tuesday afternoon in the opening game of the MZU frisbee summer league. Game started off slow, and the game was tied 2-2. Wind and a long off season caused FOA to start slow. Fellowship took an 8-2 lead into the half. The game was played at an average pace, with Bofan breaking the zone a few times and scoring 3 times in the 2nd half. Final score 15-5. Spirit player of the game - Ryan Davis. Next game - vs Honey Badgers.
2013 Summer League - Fellowship of Awesome
The Fellowship of Awesome Summer Ultimate Frisbee team starts it's journey again for the Flaterty Cup. Going for it's 7th title in the last 8 years. Seems as if every year someone takes a leave of absence. Paolo Mascarin will be in Halifax for most of the year. Jess Wade returns from ACL surgery.
However, there have been rumblings of new players joining the team. Who knows who will join the Fellowship this year. FOA will unveil their new white jersey. Veterans Peter Thompson, Rebecca "Sleepy" Coffey & Natalie O'Donnell have signed on for another season. MZU will be entering it's 10th year.
